Green Hive’s looking for a Chief Executive Officer!

Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want to make a lasting difference to the Nairn community and environment? Green Hive is growing and is now ready to recruit its first CEO.

Simon Noble, Chair of Trustees says:

"Having secured substantial investment from the Postcode Innovation Trust, Green Hive is at a dramatic point in its development. Because our current chief, Neil, sadly, is moving on to new horizons we are in a position to offer candidates for the CEO role a fantastic opportunity to help us reach new heights.

We now have the basis to engage more local volunteers, provide training and support to more people, and generate more self-sustaining income from the work of our plastics and fabrics teams. At a competitive salary for the sector, nestled alongside the beaches and hills of the Highlands, this is a truly exciting point to join an award-winning environmental charity."

This is an exciting time for us as we expand our staff team, grow our volunteer base, develop Seaman’s Hall as a community hub and our outstanding fabric, plastics, active travel, and outdoor projects.

We want to appoint a CEO who can take the lead in working with the Board, recruiting to and managing our staff team, helping us grow our trading income, reducing our dependence on grant funding, and taking on new projects and staff as funds allow.

This role is likely to appeal to those with experience of social impact, managing staff, managing and controlling budgets, grant fundraising, and generating income through social enterprise - preferably in a voluntary sector, social enterprise, or environmental organisation.

An understanding of environmental action, recycling, and the re-purposing of waste is highly desirable but not essential. Experience of trading, sales, and marketing would also be very useful.

This is a full-time contract, subject to ongoing funding. Remuneration £39,712.

Please contact Simon Noble, Chair, by email at simon@greenhive.co.uk for a more detailed specification and further information.

Apply by emailing Simon your CV and a covering letter explaining why you think you are most suitable for the role.

Green Hive is the trading name of the not-for-profit environmental charity Nairn River Enterprise.

Closing Date for applications 5 pm, Friday 17th November 2023.

Interviews either 23rd or 30th November.
