Now a not-for-profit company

On 1st December NRE was registered as a company limited by guarantee. This means that should we ever make a profit this money has to go back into the services we run, not the pockets of our members. It also means we are in a much stronger position to raise funds to set up projects that can benefit Nairn and deliver employability opportunities to local people.

We STILL haven’t got our bank account – we first applied back in November. The delay is partly due to poor communications by the banks (they haven’t told us everything they need to know up front, so we’ve had to keep researching the info they need) and the most recent money laundering and anti-terror regulations which mean there are loads of checks to be done of community organisations.
